I felt inspired by this gorgeous weather to create a simple yet fun look with some new goodies. Its not about using a ton of colour or product to create something fun that will pop, its about using the right products that target the features that you really want to show off. So without further ado here is a breakdown of what’s on my face!
For a skin like finish, I used Urban Decay Naked Foundation in 6.0, followed by cult fave, NARS Orgasm blush for a beautiful pinky, peach glow. I completed the look with some MAC Bronzer to add a little colour to this pale skin thats begging for sun.
I applied Mary Kay whipped eye colour in “Tiki Hut” on the lids, and “Seafoam” on the bottom lashline for a pop of colour. I am really into these colours because they go on creamy and have a powder like finish – plus they are super easy to apply: I used my fingers!
I finished the look with Mary Kay eyeliner in “MK black” (j’adore this pencil, its super creamy and the tip is thin so allows for precise application).
A simple swipe of Almay Smart Shade Butter Kiss in “red-light/medium”. LOVE this colour its bright enough so that I can layer it to really pop, or wear it shear for just a touch of colour. If you like versatile lip colours – you NEED this in your life!
I’m loving how quickly I was able to complete this look which took me about 7 minutes. The end look packed a lot of punch all while using easy to use products for a quick face ;)
Since the beginning of the New Year, the arctic cold air that we have been receiving has me reaching for lip balm throughout the day. I am one of those people who keeps a lip balm all over the place – my purse, jacket pocket, makeup bag, night stand and in my locker at work. I am just one of those people that must have my lips moisturized at all times.
Mary Kay At Play has a line of Triple Layer Tinted Lip Balms and I had the chance to try out Orange You Lovely. What caught my eye right away is the 3 layers of colours. Those 3 layers of colours are made to give it your lips the hint of colour, hydrate your lips, and gives it some shine and brightens it up.
What impressed me with the Mary Kay At Play Tinted Lip Balm is that it applied smoothly, I can go without using a mirror and not worry that I’ve applied too much colour because of the subtleness of the orange colour.
Overall I liked the product – find it through your independent consultant or online at marykay.ca for $12.00.
As someone who likes to decide my nail polish colours based on the the mood that I’m in, I actually get excited when I have a variety of nail polish to choose from.
Mary Kay At Play came out with a limited-edition trio of mini nail polish colours called Hail to the Nails. The colours consists of Pink Hottie (a fun fuchsia shade), Silver Sparkle (a shimmering silver colour) and Inky Blue (a bold navy colour). The colours can be worn alone or mixed together to create a new look for your nails.
What impressed me with each of these colours was how quickly they dried. As a busy working mom of 3, nail polish that dries quickly is a big bonus for me. The mini size polishes fit nicely into any sized bag when you need a quick touch up to your nails and the colours are great for all skintones.
Mary Kay @Play: Hail To The Nails set can be found through your independent sales representative for $18.00 until February 14, 2015.

It’s that time of year again…gift sets and ideas are rolling out, and Mary Kay has lots of great options for those of you looking to fill out your lists.
Mary Kay has put out a really fun shower gel and body lotion gift set with their new limited edition holiday fragrance, the Winter Wishes Shimmeriffic Shower Gel and Shimmeriffic Body Lotion Set. The scent comes across as something more suitable for more mature women so think aunts, mothers, mother-in-laws, grandmother’s, etc. for this particular fragrance. It’s a powerful fruity scent with a hint of musk, and a powerful lady deserves to wear it!
The gift set comes in a festive tin (which can easily be topped with ribbon and a bow if you’re not into wrapping, and used after the fact for all kinds of things) containing a Shimmerific Shower Gel and Shimmerific Body Lotion. Both products definitely have shimmer going on, but don’t worry – it’s not overkill, making it a suitable way to turn things up a bit for holiday parties.
These products are really fun because the shimmer component adds a layer of excitement, especially if you know someone will be hitting the party circuit and can rock the extra sparkle with confidence. Everyone needs a little glitter in their lives over the holidays, and this is a great way to make a subtle statement.
The set is available through Mary Kay at $27.00 CAD and is only available over the holidays – visit their website for more info on how to purchase.
Recently, I’ve had the pleasure of trying out some of Mary Kay’s latest offerings from their Mary Kay at Play line of products. With many bold and bright eyeshadows, lip crayons, glosses and more, the products are definitely geared towards those who want to play around a bit with their usual makeup routines.
Two of my favourites I’ve been able to check out include the Bold Fluid Liners and the Triple Layer Tinted Balms.
As a liquid liner obsessed girl, finding these two gems in my hands had me happy dancing all the way home. The two shades I tried, Hello Violet and The Real Teal are bold, bright and so complementary with my eye colour. The applicator is short and stiff, making it easy to control your lines and create the exact shape you’re going for. I drew my classic winged liner and loved the results!
They retail for $12.00 CAD and are available online.
The second product, the Triple Layer Tinted Balms, bring back memories of elementary school because they are the grown-up version of Lip Smacker balms (remember them?). Not only do they taste great, but they’re hydrating, offer just a touch of colour, and add a bit of shine if you’re looking to add a subtle pop to your lips.
Top – Atomic Red
Bottom – Orange You Lovely
These also retail for $12.00 CAD each and are a great addition to any purse, desk or makeup bag!
Have you tried any of the new Mary Kay at Play products? What do you think of the line?
