this just in : what i’m loving right now …

It’s pretty easy to tell what styles, products, and pieces I’m loving … you just need to follow me on Instagram.

For example, as a die-hard fan of NARS Cosmetics, I took an hour or two … maybe three … to get comfortable in their Bleecker Street boutique during a recent trip to NYC. I walked away with a small haul: three lip pencils and a soft touch eyeshadow pencil plus some freebie treats from their on-location makeup artist, Joey. While I’m swooning over each colour I chose, I’m in love with the red lippy Joey suggested for me: Cruella Velvet Matte Lip Pencil. It’s a true Hollywood glam red. It glided on like silk but stuck like crazy glue and didn’t budge through a whole day of wear.

If you don’t find me in my TOMS, then perhaps you might see me parade around town in a pair of Nike Dunk Sky Hi shoes … I own like three pairs. Sporty enough to be comfortable, sexy enough to wear from day to night. Plus, they add height to my vertically challenged disposition. Yessssss …

I love a good piece of jewellery. It doesn’t have to be the finest gold, the prettiest platinum, or the sexiest silver. I meant, that IS nice, but I love pairing my authentic and vintage gold/silver pieces with $5 finds at random boutiques, street vendors, or vending machines. Okay … well … maybe not the last one – but you understand what I am trying to say, yes? I found that eye-catching skulls+wings piece (above) at Drama Queen by the studio – that store has great pieces at reasonable prices and I always find something that will add some edge to a basic outfit.

And to end, I am not me without a really really great purse. I adore them all from big to little, slouchy to structured.  My recent infatuation is with my new Alexa bag by Kooba – with convertible straps I can make it a cross-body, a shoulder bag, a top handle … annnnnddd … a clutch. And with it’s neutral colour that is neither the standard brown, camel, or black, I can pair it with almost anything in my closet, and any style. Now THAT’S an investment piece, right?
