Purples – it’s a makeup artist favourite. Universally flattering on most skin tones, purples aren’t as dark and heavy as your blacks or greys, but aren’t as soft and see through as your pastels and neutrals. A good purple can be your best friend.

It used to be that wearing blue around the eyes was something saved for mature women who wore plastic visors and played the slots in Atlantic City … but that’s changed. Gone are the days of matte powder blue eyeshadow from lash to brow and it’s no longer taboo to wear such a bold and bright shade when you wink.
Today’s blues are wearable, creamy, and open the eyes when applied tastefully. Blues that are dark, bright, glittery or come with a touch of green, are certainly on trend for Spring 2013 (check out our board on Pinterest), so we thought it was only fitting to share some of our favourite eyeliners with you.
Tip: Line your inner rim and lash line (as close as you can possibly get) with your favourite black and then trace with your blue of choice and give it a crisp wing up and outward!
