I’ve been doing this for awhile now and – through trial and error – I know what brands I have come to love, what products are universal on most skintones, and what I seem to burn through easily. I restock these items and use them as the base to almost all my bridal looks (and to be honest, most brides want a handful of “styles”: bronzy, glowy, smokey, lippy – I stock what I need to create these popular looks). It doesn’t stop there either. It’s the same in my own kit too.Right now my habitual makeup consists of (and you should go out and buy it …):
Josie Maran Argan Matchmaker Foundation: It glides on and doesn’t look cakey. Plus it seamless coverage and keeps the shinies away in this heat. So lightweight – it’s like anti-powder.
Benefit Cosmetics They’re Real Mascara: I’ve actually been going mascara-less for awhile until last weekend when I picked this up … so this past week, I have not gone anywhere without applying this mascara. And yes, when you put it on for the first time, you do say to yourself “woah – but they’re real …”
Makeup Forever Lipstick in 40S: I’ve never really bought much from MUFE. I don’t know why, I just never have. But one day I came across this bright orange lipstick and just had to have it. I wear it with everything even if it clashes. It makes me happy.
NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Red Square: Another happy colour … but for when I want to be taken seriously but not toooo seriously. Still bright. Still a bit orange. All the bit perfect for summer.
Becca Cheek Tint in Guava: I can be bothered with brushes, blending, and perfection in this heat. Any extra effort doing anything just means sweating. So I rub in some of this cheek tint to make it look like I’m enjoying my time sitting around in the hot sun … when I rather be in air conditioning. Ha!
What are your go-to products this Summer season?
