When I think of Polysporin, I think cuts and burns – the name is synonymous with treating wounded skin, fast and effectively. So, when Stephanie handed over this new product to try out, I was a little surprised to be trying something made by them for a beauty blog of all places.
It didn’t take long for me to understand how perfect Polysporin is to develop a lip therapy treatment. When the temperature drops and our lips start begging for moisture, who better to come to the rescue than the experts in damaged skin? Seems obvious now, right?
Polysporin has developed a line of lip treatments called Visible Lip Health, and I’ve been using the Overnight Renewal Therapy for several weeks now. The Visible Lip Health line also has a Daily Hydration Therapy treatment, and both products are designed to ensure your lips stay healthy, hydrated and rich in vitamins all day and night.
My lips generally start to dry out by the end of October/beginning of November, so I waited to write my review until I could really give it a true test drive. Now, we’re well into December and I can truly say I have been so glad to have this on my nightstand.
The product is a thick, white, creamy texture with a petrolatum (petroleum jelly) base, and doesn’t have a scent (perfect if you’re sensitive to perfume-y lip treatments). Before this product came along, petroleum jelly was my go-to solution for super dry lips at night, so this product not only has a tried, tested and true main ingredient, but boasts the benefits of cocoa seed butter, paraffin and vitamins to make it a superstar lip treatment.
The results are stellar – I’ve had a few days where I’ve been slathering on the lip balm all day trying to soothe my dry, burning lips, but as long as I made sure to put this on before lights out I’ve woken up to soft, smooth lips, as if the previous day never happened! It really does what it claims to do.
This is a must-purchase product if you suffer from dry, chapped lips during the winter months (or ever!) and need something that will nip the problems in the bud, fast. It’s no surprise that the skin-repair experts at Polysporin could create such an effective product and I highly recommend it.
